Celebrate 101 Years of Flight In Canada with Runway 01
Runway 01 released a very special greeting card in 2009 featuring the wonderful painting of R.W. Bradford, C.M. the Aerial Experiment Association (AEA) "Silver Dart". The original painting hangs in the Canadian Aviation Museum's Silver Dart display, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. We have produced a very limited edition of these cards and we are taking orders now. This is a wonderfully personal way of commemorating Canada's first flight. Part of the proceeds go to COPA's Freedom to Fly FundThe owners of Runway 01 are pilots and believe in preserving our right to fly. For this reason we have teamed with the Canadian Owners and Pilot's Association, and part of the proceeds from this special Silver Dart 100th Anniversary card will go to COPA's Freedom to Fly Fund, which works to protect general aviation in Canada. Runway 01 supported the Freedom to Fly Fund by donating a framed Silver Dart print, autographed by R.W. Bradford, C.M., and 2 packs of cards for auctionWe donated $899 that was raised at the silent auction at the COPA Convention Banquet on Saturday July 18 2009, with all of the proceeds going to the COPA Freedom To Fly Fund.
